HAND FINISHED LEATHERS.
In 2006, Halo launched a new leather finish called Vintage cigar, which faithfully replicated the look and feel of natural old vintage leather, using a complex hand finishing technique.
WORKING WITH LEATHER.
Leather finishing came naturally to Halo’s founder Tim Oulton, who developed a deep appreciation of leather finishes while working in the antiques trade.
After launching Vintage Cigar, Tim Oulton partnered with leather master Diego Diaz from Brazil, and together they established a unique collaboration to develop a creative collection high quality hand finished leathers, that involves design, testing and integrated production with our own inhouse tannery.
Halo’s range of leathers includes rustic vintage finishes, more modern finishes, timeless luxurious full grain options, and Halo continues to lead leather innovate with new finishes introduced every year.
SPECIAL SELECTIONS.
Most of the world’s leathers today are processed, pigmented, painted, stripped, and corrected, often with heavy layers of artificial coatings and treatments. Poor quality leather is often hidden underneath uniform artificial coatings that make them look more appealing.
But while they look good when new, they do not last. Scratches, stains, and stretching can quickly degrade the surface and furniture soon wears out.
Halo uses only special selections of top quality hides, and finishes them entirely by hand, using a process that can take up to 3 days for each hide. No heavy pigmentation, no grain correction, just translucent dyes that are worked deep into the leather while ensuring its magical, natural, properties are preserved.

Halo’s leather specialisation emanates from its own dedicated in house tannery, which uses innovative water management technologies and processes that minimise water usage and eliminate water runoff, making the tanning process not just natural but more sustainable too.
